Color and Shapes

It is such a treat when I can combine my love for music and photography!  Both passions allow me to express myself in ways that words cannot.  I was excited when Paul Tucker, a great saxophonist in the Army Band, asked me to take some publicity shots for him.  We started shooting at Ft. Myer just as the sun was coming up, and ended up in Georgetown.  

And now for my favorite shots.  This fountain, with the Kennedy Center in the background, is amazing!  I'm so glad Paul was willing to get under the water!  I think the water droplets look a little like music notes. :)

Red Steel

Gosh I'm so glad to know this guy and his lovely wife, Christina.  Amazing friends and amazing musicians!  My favorite part about these photos would have to be Ben's red cello case and his awesome cowboy boots.  Oh, and his Blue Steel pose.  You'll see that at the end ;)

What a beautiful day!  Sunlight streaming through trees, bright blue sky...it was lovely.  And listening to Marlisa play her violin made the session even more lovely!  She is an amazing violinist whom I have the privilege of knowing and working with.  Thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you, listening to you play!

Southern, Spring Bride

"I don't think I am going to be able to stop smiling" Catherine beamed as soon as we started her bridal session.  You and me both, Catherine!  Even now I can't stop smiling as I remember our incredibly fun day walking around DC in your gorgeous gown!  

One of my favorite things about living in DC are the cherry blossoms that burst out every Spring.  What's even more beautiful to me than the blossoms on the trees, is the carpet of pink they create when the petals fall to the ground.  "Magical" is the word that comes to mind when I think about our session in the pink, falling snow.  Enjoy your wedding in Savannah, Catherine and Gene!  Congratulations!!
